Tropical Party color wash card

You can view a color wash video here. Using her technique, here is the card we can up with. To do the color wash is so easy, just scribble Bashful Blue, then we chose to use Night Quite Navy (instead of Taken with Teal) and finally Soft Suede on Stampin' Up! Watercolor paper. Using a very wet Aqua Painter spread the color using a back a forth motion, to blend. Clean your Aqua Painter between each color, by simply wiping off on a paper towel. The Palm trees were stamped on Whisper White using markers, cut out and popped with Stampin' Dimensionals. I decided that I wanted to add writing in the sand. You will notice that I stamped my "Love you" with Soft Suede, then decided that, you need to stamp off first to get the right effect, see Denise's card below. Except for cutting out the Palm trees, this is a fun fast card. this card is also a part of July's Stamp camp, since you had nothing to cut out on the "Because I care" card. Try this technique out, I am sure you will love it.

Blissful Bride in Baja Blue

This is the third card for July's stamp. I wish you could see how beautiful this is with the wedding dress stamped on Shimmery White paper. This is my version of a card by Lori Rider. I just loved the layers on her card, so I used the same layout with just a few modifications. I left off the sentiment, brads, smooch and glitter. I used different designer paper, and instead of using designer paper on the next level, I embossed my paper, using our wonderful Texturz Embossing Folders. I also used our new 1/8" Marina Mist taffeta ribbon (this ribbon has already become my favorite!) The sentiment on the inside says "Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, weddig wishes just for you!" The sentiment comes with this wonderful set, that also has a bouquet of flowers, a cake, a scallop border stamp, plus "You're invited" and "For the bride and groom" stamps. A total of 8 stamps. Sympathy card

Don't you just love the simple beauty of this card. I was so inspired by the card Tina Dyck posted on Splitcoast Stampers. Members can see her card here.

I always like to try and change at least three things when I use another persons idea, but I seriously had a hard time comming up with any changes, I love it exactly as it was. If you cannot view her card I will explain my changes. I left off the brads and bow (going with a knot instead), as I striving for simple elegance. I went with most of her colors, substituting the Certainly Celery for the retired Kiwi Kiss. I also used a mask on my Hydrangea, stamping it directly on the card. On her card, she stamped on another piece of paper and cut out, then applied to the card. I know, I know, you are saying, Janet your card almost always involve alot of cutting, and this time, no cutting at all, what's up with that? Remember, I was going for simple elegance. The final change was in the coloring of the flower. She also used Cherry Cobbler and an Aqua Painter, then after dry added shading with a blend pen. I did my shading with the Aqua Painter also. While I love the dramatic deep color of her flower, I also like the softness of mine. Thank you Tina, so much for your beautiful card, for without it, I would not have created this wonderful card. Paper: Basic Black and Whisper White

Ink: StazOn Black, Cherry Cobbler (new color!), Certainly Celery, Old Olive and Crumb Cake (new color, was formally Kraft and we only had paper, now we also have ink, Yahoo!!!)

Accessories: 5/8" Basic Black Satin ribbon, Stampin' Sponges, Aqua Painter,

Instructions: To make the wonderful shaded rectangle on the card, cut a piece of scrap cardstock 5 1/4" x 4" and using your Paper cutter (You need the cutter with the orange blade, that slides between a clear rail, this blade has marking on all four sides, so you can cut out a portion of the inside perfectly) I cut 3/4" in all all four sides, leaving me a 3/4" frame. I Stamped the Hydrangea in StazOn, colored then covered with a mask, placed my frame on top and sponged in the open area with Crumb Cake classic ink. This frame is just like your mask, you can reused it again, again and again. Notice how on my mask I didn't have to sponge in the upper right had corner, because that is where I had my mask for the Hydrangea.

New Stamp set: Artistic Etchings
in Black and Cherry Cobbler

I finally had time to play with some of my new products that will be in the new catalog. I just love this new stamp set called Artistic Etchings. Stamping the medallion from the stamp set with Basic Black on the Cherry Cobbler paper, then using the new Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions plate makes quite a stunning background. I would live to take credit for this idea, but I cased it from Joanne Travis, you can view her card at: http://sleepyinseattle.net/. There is not a direct link to this card so just go to her archive under June 2010 and look for Artistic Etchings. I did make a few modifications. I left off the sentiment, the library clip, the hemp twine and punched border, opting to just add a ribbon border, and moving it to the left side of the card. I also stamped in Basic Gray instead of the Expresso. On the inside of the card I opted to leave off a sentiment and place on the the stamps in the set at the top center. This card will be a part of my July stamp camp.

Flight of the Butterfly/Priceless expansion card instructions

Everyone at stamp camp this month loved this butterfly expansion card. I told them I would post the measurements on my blog, so here they are. I reposted a picture of the inside of my card here, because I love it when I have a camp, and one of my customers comes up with something to make my card ever better. I originally had the background all in Celery, except for the sentiments, but as you can see I added some Mambo and Turqouise flowers. I think it added a nice touch, what do you think. Cutting Instructions:

Tempting Turquoise: 2 pieces 5 1/2" x 4 1/4"

Confetti White: 1 piece 8 1/2" x 5 1/4" and

2 pieces 5 1/4" x 4 1/8"

Melon Mambo: 1" x 5 1/2"

Score the 8 1/2" x 5 1/4" Confetti White paper at

1/4", 2 1/4", 4 1/4", 6 1/4" and 8 1/4"

the 2 1/4" and 6 1/4" are mountain folds

the 1/4", 4 1/4" and 8 1/4" are valley folds.

All stamping will be done with classic inks. Stamp two Turquoise, two Mambo and two Razzleberry butterflies from the Flight of the butterfly stamp set and punch out using the butterfly punch. Stamp one Turquoise, one Mambo and one Razzleberry butterfly from Priceless and cut out.

 Attach the two smaller pieces of Confetti White to the larger piece by gluing them on the 1/4" folds on each end.  Glue as close to the fold, but not over.

Stamp the swirly sentiment from Priceless close to the the 2 1/4" fold, using Tempting Turquoise. This will will be the flight pattern of your Turquoise butterfly. Stamp the swirl stamps from Priceless all the way across the center of your card (except where the sentiment is). Stamp the word Pricless using Tempting Turquoise, on the end panel, leaving room for your signature. Randomly stamp the Circle with flower in it and small flower, from Pricless, using Certainly Celery. Randomly Stamp the large flower, from priceless using Melon Mambo, and the smaller flower in Tempting Turquoise.

Attach the Mambo and Razzleberry Pricless butterflies on the first panel using Stampin' Dimensionals. Attach the Turqouise butterfly by gluing his right wing only, just to the left of your 2 1/4" mountain fold, centering over the sentiment. The right wing will not be glued down. Glue the right wing only of your Mambo puched butterfly on the 6 1/4" mountain fold. Glue the Razzleberry butterfly on the same fold, but glue down the left wing only.

Stamp one of the Turquoise pieces with the En Francais background stamp using Tempting Turquoise. Flip over and attach the Turquoise pieces on each end lining up one side at the fold, make sure the front (stamped) piece is attached on the right side.  You will have a 1/8" border showing on the top, bottom and outside edge, on the inside of the card. Wrap a piece of ribbon around the Melon Mambo piece and attach to the front of the card.  Attach one Turquoise, Mambo and Razzleberry punched butterfly to front of the card using Stampin' Dimensionals. Stamp one butterfly on envelope.

You are done! Enjoy your card.
