Filled with love - presents

I really loved Jamie Babarczys card using the wagon and present done monochromatic in Pink. I changed mine up a bit, using purples. I stayed with the banner but left off the bow. I also made my panel larger to include the sentiment and make the banner fit within my square. I also added gems to the wheels. My mat is larger so I did not dry emboss the card front because I had so much less showing that hers. Here is my version.

Here is the inside of the card I created.

Filled with Love, Doggone Friendly, So Sincere

When I saw Katrina Chins card with the dogs in a wagon I knew I had to recreate that card. Here is what I came up with. I really love the way it turned out.

My wagon didn’t stamp perfectly but I really like the way it looked, gave me more of an old wagon look. I’ve also noticed how everyone seems to add the wood slats right on top of the wagon like I did in my wagonful of presents card, but I wanted the slats to sit on top of the wagon.

I knew I wanted the dogs in the wagon, and to water wash the blue sky and add clouds Once I got it made I though where am I going to put a sentiment. Looking through my sentiment stamp sets I found this vertical Happy Birthday in the So Sincere stamp set and it was perfect.

Supplies:

Stamps: Filled with Fun, Dogone Friendly & So Sincere

Ink: Mometo Black, Balmy Blue, Real Red & Smokey Slate

Stampin Blends: light and dark of Copper Clay, Wild Wheat, Bubble Bath, Real Red, Basic Black, light Pebbled Path & Pecan Pie, dark Azure Afternoon, Highland Heather and the Color Lifter.

Paper: Basic White, Real Red and Pecan Pie

Accessories: Stamp Cut and Emboss machine, Filled with Fun & Adventurous Sky dies, Basic Gray & Smokey Slate Pearls, Stampin’ dimensionals, Water Painter, Acyrlic block, Simply Shammy, Tombo Multi purpose liquid glue, Silicone craft sheet, Paper trimmer, Simply Scored, Paper snips

Cutting dimensions:

Real Red card stock: card base 5 1/2 “ x 8 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”

Basic White card stock: cut two at 4” x 5 ¼”, 3 ¼” x 3” (dogs) and scraps for clouds, wagon, handle, wheels and sentiment strip.

Pecan Pie: scrap for wagon panels.

Instructions:

Assembly instructions

1. Add Balmy Blue ink to an acrylic block, using the Aqua painter add 2-3 drops of water on ink and blend. In a swiping back and forth motion water color the front of the card front panel leaving ½” – ¾” at the bottom. Try not to use to much water unless you use watercolor paper instead. Repeat process with Smokey Slate ink at the bottom. Set aside to dry

2. Ink the bottom right hand side of the Doggone Friendly stamp set making sure to get the boxers ears and the dog with the frisbee. With stamp face up on your table place Basic White cardstock on the stamp making sure again to fit all five dogs shown. Set a piece of scrap paper on top and making sure to hold cardstock in place rub the cardstock with your fingers. Remove by picking straight up, not allowing card stock to slide. (I will post a video of the process). Since I put my wood slats above not on the wagon I had to draw lines down to the bottom of my card on the dogs body and the frisbee. Don’t forget to color in the sky that shows between two of the dogs (see sample) Use Stampin’ blends to color the dogs.

3. Stamp two clouds with Smokey Slate on a scrap of white card stock. Also stamp clouds on inside panel close to the top and add inside sentiment just below the clouds. Stamp Wagon in Real Red, and two wheels and wagon handle in Momento Black on scrap white paper. Stamp sentiment in Momento Black on a white scrap and dovetail ends. Die cut wagon, wheels,  handle and the two clouds for card front. Die cut wood panels for wagon out of scrap of Pecan Pie. Color rim on wheels with dark Real Red Stampin’ Blend. Fussy cut out dogs. Note: I cut between the Chihuahua and Boxers ears to remove section so sky shows through. I did not do that between the yellow dog and the dog on the right.

4. Add a small bead of Tombo glue to top of wagon and add wood slats. Add glue to both wood slats and attach the dogs. Add small amount of glue to bottom of wagon to attach the wheels. Add pearls to wagon wheels. Using Stampin’ Dimensionals pop wagon and dogs and add to the card front leaving room for the handle. Glue down the handle, small cloud and sentiment. Pop up large cloud.

Admire your finished creation.

Spotlight on Nature gate fold card.

I saw a cute gate fold card made by fellow demonstrator Jan Musselman using the Spotlight on Nature stamps set and dies and using it as inspiration here is my version. I used her layout but changed the colors, water colored my second circle instead of using designer series paper and did not emboss the panel behind the circles. My flower is a little high because I had to hide a smudge and the inside sentiment is cut out because I messed up my stamping on the actual card. Since I sponged around the sentiment piece. I actually like it better than just stamped on the card. Sometimes you have happy mistakes.

Supplies:

Stamps: Spotlight on Nature

Ink: Petal Pink, Summer Splash and Mometo Black

Stampin Blends: light and dark of both Petal Pink and Summer Splash

Paper: Petal Pink, White and thick white cardstock, Subtles (Petal pink) 6x6 Designer Series Paper

Accessories: Stamp Cut and Emboss machine, Spotlight on Nature dies (largest die used is the second largest flower petal die in the set), Sponge dauber, Stampin’ dimensionals, Take your pick tool, Take your pick die brush tip, Water Painter, Acyrlic block, Simply Shammy, Tombo Multi purpose liquid glue, Silicone craft sheet, Paper trimmer, Simply Scored, Paper snips

Cutting dimensions:

White card stock: card base 4 ¼” x 11” (scored at 2 ¾” and 8 ¼”), 4’’ X 4”, 3 5/8” X 3 5/8”, 2 7/8” x 2 7/8 (middle die cut circle), 2 ¼” x 2 ¼” (smallest die cut circle), scraps for stamping

Petal Pink (Subtles 6x6 designer series paper pack): 3 at ¾” x 4”

Petal Pink cardstock: 3 ¾” x 3 ¾”, 3 ½” x 3 ½” (largest die cut circle )

Instructions:

1. Stamp flower image and two butterflies on scrap thick white cardstock. Color with stampin’ blends and fussy cut.

2. Die Cut second largest flower petal die using Petal Pink card stock. Die cut next two circle both using white cardstock. Use the Take your pick tool die and die brush tip to remove any pieces that have not fallen out. Don’t forget to also remove any paper left in your die.

3. Add ink to an acrylic stamp by pressing the Summer Splash ink pad directly on block. Add several drops of water from Water Painter, mix and color the larger of your two die cut circles, set aside to dry. Stamp card front sentiment on smallest circle and inside sentiment on scrap white cardstock, trim to size desired.

4. Using sponge daubers to sponge the edges of the smallest white square and Petal Pink die cut circle using Petal Pink ink. Sponge the three pink designer paper strips, largest white square and inside sentiment strip using a sponge dauber and Summer Splash ink.

5. Attach the smallest white circle (with sentiment) to the Summer Splash water colored circle. Attach that to largest Petal Pink die cut circle. Attach the die cut circles to the smallest white square then the Petal Pink square and finally the largest white square.

6. Glue the two designer series paper strips to each side of the card front making sure the top, bottom and side are the same width. Add glue to card front on the left gate fold only ¾” from left edge. Glue flower stamp to card front and add the first butterfly using Stampin’ dimensionals. Open card (left gate fold) and add second butterfly just to the left of designer paper so it doesn’t show when card is closed.  Open right gate fold. Add third designer paper strip just to the right of the first score line and add sentiment strip. Make sure the full sentiment shows when the right gate fold is closed even if you have to overlap on the designer paper.

7. Don’t forget to stamp your envelope with the butterfly. You can color the butterfly or leave it uncolored, your choice. If you have a personalized stamped by stamp add to the back of card. You are now ready to sign, and mail or present to the recipient of your card.

Tune In Shaker card, News Flash, Pretty in Pink

Pretty in Pink dsp (2024-2026 6X6 PAPER PACK): 2 @ 1 1/8” X 4”

White card stock: card base: 8 1/2" x 5 ½”, 2 @ ¼” x 4” strips, 3” x 2 1/8” TV back, 4” x 5 ¼” inside

Window Sheet” 3” x 2 1/8”

Watercolor paper: 3 3/8” x 2 ¾”

Instructions:

1.     Cut cardstock, designer paper, window sheet and watercolor paper to dimensions above

2.     Stamp Tv on watercolor paper using VersaMark ink and heat emboss with Black embossing powder. Die cut using the Tune In dies, including the inside of Tv. Stamp antenna on piece die cut from TV using VersaMark ink and heat emboss using black embossing powder. Die cut antenna using Tune In dies.

3.     Add Pretty in Pink ink to small acrylic block my gently pressing ink to block. Using the Water Painter squeeze one drop into the ink on block and mix. Water color bottom approximately 1 1/2” from bottom of TV, leaving feet white. Add 2-3 more drops to block and color the remainder of the TV. Color feet using the Pecan Pie watercolor pencil (assortment 1) and using Water painter, using water painter to smooth if desired. Set aside to dry.

4.     Score card base at 4 1/4”. Stamp starburst stamp with Smokey Slate ink stamping off once on both ¼” x 4 strips. Using sponge dauber sponge around the two white stamped strips, pink and gray dsp and white inside panel. Glue pink panels to top and bottom of card front leaving a border on top and bottom equal to side border (approximately 1/8”). Glue gray panel in center, Glue stamped strips between pink and gray panels as shown.

5.     Using StazOn ink stamp sentiment on window sheet. Immediately clean stamp with StazOn cleaner. I then stamp the stamp on scratch paper to remove most of the cleaner then clean my stamp with Stampin’ mist. Use Tear tape to adhere window sheet to back of tv. Trim around corners if window sheet shows in the front.

6.     Die cut starburst die twice each on pink and slate cardstock scraps. Adhere Foam adhesive strip around the center of the tv on the window sheet. I also add a second strip on the wider side of the tv near the other edge. Leave backing on top of foam strips and add die cut starburst to window sheet in the center. Remove the backing and add white cardstock that is the same size as the window sheet. Trim in front if necessary. Add antenna by adding a small piece of foam adhesive strip half on antenna and half on tv.  Remove backing. Add Tombo liquid glue to back of tv and add to card front.

7.     Stamp sentiment on inside panel using Momento Black ink. Stamp starburst stamp several times in both pink and slate around the sentiment. Glue to inside of card. Stamp starburst stamp on envelope making sure not to stamp where address goes or where to place the stamp if mailing. Your card is now ready to sign and give or mail out.
