Sunrise sailing stamp, dies and embossing folder

Todays card features the Sunrise Sailing stamp set, dies and embossing folder. I left off the sentiment so you can choose if you want this to be for Fathers Day, birthday or any occasion you choose.

Supplies used

Stamps: Sunrise Sailing (165491- bundle 165497)

Ink: Momento Black (132708) and Balmy Blue (147105), Azure Afternoon (161663), Real Red (147084) and Pecan Pie (161665)

Paper: Azure Afternoon (161719), Real Red (102482) and white (166780) card stock. Watercolor paper (149612)

Accessories: Stamp, Cut and Emboss machine and Specialty plate(149653), Sunrise Sailing Hybrid embossing folder (165496- includes embossing folder and dies), Bone folder (10230), Multipurpose liquid glue (110755), mini Stampin’ Dimensionals (144108), Paper trimmer (152392), Paper snips (103579), clear stamp blocks (165674 bundle -or you can purchase individually). Cutting instructions:

Azure Afternoon card stock:  card base 8 ½ x 5 ½” scored at 4 ¼”

Real Red card stock: 4” x 5 ¼”

Watercolor paper: 3 7/8” x 5”

White card stock:   inside -4” x 5 ¼”, scraps to stamp sailboat and clouds

 

Assembly instructions:

1. Cut an Azure afternoon card base 8 ½ x 5 ½” scored at 4 ¼” and add Real Red 4” x 5 ¼”panel to card front.

2. Emboss the watercolor paper using the Sunrise Sailing Hybrid embossing folder. Also emboss clouds with scraps of Basic White cardstock. Fussy cut around the clouds.

3. Using a water brush or paintbush color the water with Azure Afternoon ink and sky with Balmy Blue. You can push on closed ink pad to get ink on the lid or press an acrylic block into ink pad. Add a couple of drops of water before adding to cardstock. Sometimes I add a drop of Balmy Blue re-inker just because it is such a light color. Set aside to fully dry.

4. Stamp sailboat using Momento Black ink. Stamp the strips on the sails with Real Red and the boat in Pecan Pie. Die cut using the coordinating dies.

5. Add a 4” x 5 ¼” white panel to inside of the card and stamp your preferred sentiment. If you want to step your card up a bit add Real Read 4"x 5 1/4" panel to inside of card and cut down your white panel to 3 3/4" x 5". Stamp some birds above the sentiment and on the envelope.

6. Once watercolor paper is fully dry (you can speed up the drying time with a heat gun) glue on the clouds and cut off edges overhanging. Stamp birds using Momento Black ink. Add sailboat using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

 

 

Gallery Blooms in green and gold

This a fast easy card with lots of wow factors. The designer paper with the gold foil then the flowers embossed in gold really make this card elegant. Plus you can never go wrong using an embossing folder. Adding gold embossing on the inside with a tiny strip of the designer paper on the inside made even the inside extra special. I really love the way this card turned out.

Tulips in archway card

I saw where someone, don’t remember who made a frame with the arches and put the tulips. Then I saw a card where they used the arches with the tulips and black and white designer series paper. Since tulips and daisies are my two favorite flowers and I love, love black and white cards I decided to combine the two cards and this is what I came up with. I just love it with the new Botanical textiles paper.

Cutting instructions:

Highland Heather cardstock:  card base 5 ½” x 8 1/2” scored at 4 1/4”

White cardstock: cut two 3 ¼” x 4 (arches), 3 ½” x 5” (tulip) and 4” x 5 ¼” (inside)

Botanical textiles designer series paper:  4” x 5 ¼” and ¾” x 4”

 

Assembly instructions:

Cut card base out of Highland Heather cardstock 5 ½” x 8 1/2” scored at 4 1/4” and burnish using a bone folder. Using a sponge dauber ink all the front edges.

Ink all the edges of your designer paper and glue to front of card base.

Die cut an arch using the fourth largest die and emboss this piece using the Exposed Brick 3d embossing folder.

Die cut another arch using the fourth largest die with the next size smaller inside. Tape both dies to paper to make sure they do not shift when die cutting.

Using a blender brush lightly sponge over all the arches with Smokey Slate ink. You want to sponge very lightly as you only want to dirty up the dies (adding very little ink). 

Glue embossed arch to designer paper. Add Foam Adhesive tape all around the arched frame making the bottom a separate piece. Remove tape from arch leaving the tape on the bottom (straight part) and add to card front lining up with embossed arch.

Stamp tulip stamp using Momento Black ink. Color in using the light and dark Highland Heather, Petal Pink and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends. Use dark blend to add shadows and light to fill in. I also add the dark blend to the bottom of the flowers and wherever a leaf or petal would cause a shadow. Die cut using coordinating die. Add foam adhesive tape just at the top of flowers, making sure not to add to close to the top or sides that will sit on top of the arched frame. Tuck bottom under arch and with a pencil mark what sits below the frame. Using your paper snips cut off at pencil line. Tuck back under making sure none shows below the arch and remove tape from flower and bottom (straight portion) of the arch.

Glue embossed brick 4” x 5 ¼” panel to inside of the card. Stamp sentiment on arch cut out from the frame. I used the birthday stamp from the Unbounded Love stamp set and Momento Black ink. Sponge around the edges using a sponge dauber and Momento black ink.

Sponge all edges of the ¾” piece of designer paper and glue to bottom of embossed panel. Glue stamped arch just above the designer paper.

Add a piece of designer paper to the back flap of your envelope if desired.  Your card is ready to send to a lucky recipient. 

Storybook friends fun fold card.

Don't you just love bunnies? I was in love with the Storybook Friends Suite as soon as I saw it. Besides eight cute animal stamps you get a house, a carrot patch and small cobblestone wall stamp. There are dies to cut out all eight animals and three cute little frames. I used one on this card. Since the panel with the rabbit sits forward and the two panels with the flowers sit back my scanner made the top look a little wonky. You can see in the second photo where it lays flat that it is not wonky.

I added a panel to the back side of card for a personal note or signature.

Ink: Early Espresso

Paper: Lost Lagoon, Very Vanilla and White card stock. Thoughtful Journey designer series paper

Cutting instructions:

Lost Lagoon cardstock:  card base 8 ½ x 5 ½” scored at 2”, 3 1/8”, 5 3/8” and 6 ½”, and scrap for frame

Very Vanilla cardstock:  2 1/8” x 5 3/8” for back of card, 1 /2” x 2 1/8” for inside the frame. Small scrap for sentiment

Thoughtful Journey designer series paper: cut two at 1 ¾” x 5 ¼”, cut one at 5 ¼” x 2” 3 ½” x 4 ¾”

White cardstock: small scrap to stamp bunny

 

Assembly instructions:

Cut card base out of Lost Lagoon, scoring at 2”, 3 1/8”, 5 3/8” and 6 ½”.  

1. Stamp bunny stamp on scrap of white cardstock. Color bunny with the light Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blend and highlight with dark Crumb Cake blend. I colored his bow with the light Blackberry Bliss blend. I then colored inside his ears with the dark Petal Pink (I should have used the light). I used the color lifter to remove some of the color on his tail and lighten the color in his ears. Die cut with coordinating Storybook Friends dies.

2. Stamp sentiment on a scrap of Vanilla cardstock and die cut using a die from the Mixed Labels die set.

3. Die cut frame from the Storybook Friends die set with Lost Lagoon card stock. You can cut another frame and save for another day to get the inside or just cut a vanilla scrap 1 /2” x 2 1/8”.  I attached the vanilla to the frame using tear tape. Lay down frame with Vanilla sitting inside and put half the tape on the Vanilla and half on the frame.

4. Glue the two smaller panels to the right and left side of the card, and add the larger piece flipped over to other side to center. Remove tape from frame and attach to center panel. Attach die cut sentiment to bottom of frame. Add bunny with Stampin’ Dimensionals with feet and ears slightly on the frame.

5. Stamp small bunny on the 2 1/8” x 5 3/8” panel. Color with Stampin’ Blends. Add additional sentiment if desired and sign. (Note: You want to sign the card before gluing down because of the bunny popped on the front.) Glue panel in the center of the back of the card.  

6. Stamp small bunny on the bottom left side of envelope or on the back flap. Your card is ready to send to a lucky recipient.  

Umbrella Days, paper piecing, Winter Meadow and Unbounded Beauty designer papers

Here is another Umbrella Days card, On this card instead of coloring in the lady and child I did paper piecing using designer series paper. Don't you just love the way the designer paper looks like a stormy sky especially with the rain drops stamp

For the inside I added two umbrellas using designer series paper

Cutting instructions:

Misty Moonlight: card base 8 ½ x 5 ½” scored at 4 ¼”

Winter Meadow Designer paper: mat 5¼” x 4, scraps puddles

Unbounded beauty designer paper: scraps for outfits and umbrellas

White: inside mat 5¼” x 4. scraps for stamping and die cutting

Crumb Cake: scrap

 

Assembly instructions:

1. Cut card base out of Shy Misty Moonlight , score and fold.

2. Stamp sentiment using Misty Moonlight ink on the grey (stormy looking) designer series paper on the upper right of panel. Use Smokey Slate to add the rain drops (stamping off once) above, below and the side of the sentiment covering the whole panel (do not stamp raindrop on top of the sentiment), glue to card front.       

3. Stamp the lady and child from the Umbrella Days stamp set using Momento Black ink on white cardstock. Using Misty Moonlight Stampin’ Blends color the pants on both the lady and child.  Bie cut both using the Umbrella days dies.

4. Stamp on designer paper the ladies coat and boots, then on coordinating paper her umbrella twice.  Stamp the childs coat and boots and umbrella (twice)  with a coordinating paper. A fussy cut the coats, umbrellas and the boots as I did not want a border around them. Use Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend and color in the ladies hair right over top of the designer paper if your pattern is light enough like mine is. If a darker pattern you might have to stamp the hair on white and fussy cut out. You could also stamp it on whatever color of cardstock you want the hair to be. Using  the black Stampin’ Write marker color the bottom for the bottom of the boots.  

5. Die cut two rain puddles using the Winter Meadow designer paper. Glue to front panel using Tombo Glue. Glue little girl on puddle under the sentiment. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop lady up on second puddle.

6. Add the remaining two stamped and cut out umbrellas with die cut handles  using Tombo glue. Stamp sentiment if desired and glue to inside of card.

7. For the envelope add the child on the bottom left side or on the back. Color or just leave uncolored.
