Changing Leaves and Everyday Greetings

These are brand new stamp sets that will available to purchase as a On line exclusive in July. The Changing Leaves stamp set has coordination dies and also an embossing folder. I have never used Pretty Peacock instead of a green on a leaf card but as I went through my designer paper I found this Pretty Peacock paper with leaves on it and decided to use it. I liked the Wild Wheat with the Peacock better than Daffodil, but still went with the normal Pumpkin Pie. I really like the way it turned out.

Supplies

Stamp sets: Changing leaves and Everyday greetings

Inks: Pretty Peacock, Wild Wheat and Pumpkin Pie

Paper: Pretty Peacock, Pumpkin Pie and Vanilla card stock, Perennial Lavender designer Series paper

Accessories: Stamp Cut and Emboss machine, Changing leaves dies and Embossing Folder, Specialty Plate, Sponge daubers, Petal Pink & Pretty Peacock foiled gems, 23-25 In Color Jute trim, Masking paper, Silicone craft sheet, Take your pick tool, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Tear tape, Tombo liquid glue, Paper Trimmer, Paper snips, Simply Scored

Cutting instructions:

Designer paper: 3 7/8” x 3 7/8” cut in half diagonally

Card base: Pretty Peacock 5 ½” x 8 1/2” scored at 4 1/4”

Mat: Pumpkin Pie, cut two- 4” x 5 ¼”

Vanilla card stock: Cut two- 3 7/8” x 5 1/8” and one 1” x 3 7/8”,
Vanilla scraps for leaves

Assembly:

Emboss one vanilla card stock panel with the Changing Leaves embossing folder, using the Specialty Plate. Sponge edges with Wild Wheat using a sponge dauber.

Stamp sentiment on the 1” Vanilla using Pretty Peacock ink then sponge edges with Wild Wheat ink using a sponge dauber.

To stamp leaves use a sponge dauber to apply ink to stamp. On the largest leaf use first the Wild Wheat to the top half of the leaves then the Pumpkin Pie on the bottom half making sure to ink the center line. The thin leaves I sponged one half with Wild Wheat and the other half with Pretty Peacock. The smallest leaf was done just like the larger one. Don’t forget to stamp the inside of the card also. Sentiment on inside also Pretty peacock and leaves done same as on the front. If you want the peacock leaves on the inside stamp your Pumpkin/wheat leaf first and make a paper mask by stamping on masking paper (you can ink that with ink pad in a single color) Either cut out or use the die. I fussy cut mine so I would not have the small border around the leaf. Place mask on stamped leaf and stamp your Peacock/wheat leaf on top. Carefully remove mask and store in your stamp case for future use. Don’t forget to stamp one leaf on the back or bottom left of your envelope.

Glue designer paper to embossed panel using Tombo liquid glue. Add Tear Tape around all four edges, remove backing and put tape side down on Silicone Craft sheet. Add a small bead of Tombo liquid glue on the Vanilla embossed paper right along the edge of the designer paper, Add a 6 ½” piece of Wild Wheat Jute trim leaving ½” on each side. Turn jute to back side and stick to tear tape. I also add a ½” piece on tear tape on top the jute on the back to extra insurance. Removed backing and adhere to Pumpkin Pie mat, adhere the Pumpkin Mat to card front using Tombo glue.

Die cut leaves using the Changing leaves die and add to card front using Stampin Dimensionals. Be carful to not add dimensionals where jute trim is or when layered on another leaf. I use Tombo glue when on top of another leaf and dimensional where it is not. Add sentiment adding dimensionals only on the two ends and glue in center where place on the leaves.

Using the spatula tip or putty side to add three gems to the card front.

Add inside stamped panel to Pumpkin mat and adhere to inside of card using Tombo glue.

Admire and enjoy your creation.

In the Grove card

This stamp set was one of my top five as soon as I saw the new catalog. I really love the way this card turned out. I did a short video of how I colored the fox and have written instructions for the rest of the card. I haven’t made a video in over two years because the internet got really bad out in my studio. My husband recently went to our internet provider was upgraded our service and I was able to make this short video out there. So I will start doing full videos of my cards in the future. I will also do the written instructions because some of you like videos and some of your like written instructions.

Supplies:

Stamps: In the Grove and Nested Friends

Ink: Misty Moonlight

Stampin’ Write Markers: Pecan Pie, Smokey Slate and Basic Black

Paper: Old Olive, Misty Moonligjht, Pecan pie (scrap) and Vanilla card stock. Thoughtful Journey 6x6 Designer Series Paper

Accessories: Stamp Cut and Emboss machine, In the Grove and Delicate Forest die sets. Paper trimmer, Simply Scored, Tombo Multi liquid glue, Silicone craft sheet, Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals

Cutting instructions:

Old Olive card: 5 ½” x 8 1/2” scored at 4 ¼”

Misty Moonlight mat: 4” x 5 ¼ - cut two

Thoughtful Journey designer series paper: 3 ¾” x 5 1/2” cut off to 3 ¾ x 5” leaves you with a ½” piece for the inside.

Vanilla 3 ¾” x 5” inside -cut two, one for inside and one to die cut the birch trees die. Scrap Vanilla for sentiment and fox

Pecan Pie scrap to die cut bunny for inside

Assembly:

Die cut birch tree die from the In the Grove die set using Vanilla panel. Stamp sentiment (from Nested friends stamp set) on scrap using Misty Moonlight ink. I die cut using a die from the Delicate Forest dies. if you don’t own those dies go through your stamps and dies to find the sentiment you want and a die to fit that sentiment.

Stamp fox on a scrap of Vanilla using Pecan Pie, Smokey Slate and Basic Black Stampin’ Write markers. I colored direct to rubber (coloring my markers directly on the stamp then stamping). I love that you can do that with our Stampin’ Write markers and because of that alone, I believe they are a must have. I made a short video showing you how I did the coloring. Die cut fox using the die from In the Grove dies.

Until I can figure out how to get the video to load here you can view it on my Facebook group page here is the link:  https://www.facebook.com/519523140/videos/pcb.989131922360667/1830593787451307

Attach Misty Moonlight mat to Old Olive card using Tombo liquid glue or Stampin’ Seal. Attach designer paper on top of Misty Moonligh card stock then add Vanilla birch tree die. I also use Tombo glue for that by placing it on my Silicone craft sheet. The glue wipes right off and you don’t mess up your stamping surface. Attach sentiment strip. Add fox using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Inside: Attach Misty Moonlight panel then Vanilla panel on top of that. Add ½” designer strip of paper. I did the left side because I like the bunny better on that side, but you can add it to either side. Glue bunny and you are finished!!!

Adventurous Sky

I love the Adventurous Sky suite. The stamp set, dies and designer paper are all amazing. I thought this was the perfect set for this shadowbox card. Fits perfectly in a A2 envelope  On my post from May 20th f this year I made a card with the die cut airplane, this card I used the stamps.

Supplies:

Stamps: Adventurous Sky

Ink: Momento Black and Night of Navy

Stampin’ Blends: dark Smokey Slate, light and dark Cherry Cobbler

Paper: White and Smokey Slate card stock, Take to the Sky designer series paper

Accessories: Stamp Cut and Emboss machine, Adventurous Sky and Spotlight on Nature dies, Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals, Tear Tape, Tombo liquid glue, Paper trimmer, Simply scored, paper snips

Cutting instructions:

White card stock: cut two 5 ½” x 4 ½”, score at ½”, 1”, 4 ½” and 5”

Designer paper: 3” x 4 ¼” for inside, 5 1/2 “ x 4 ¼” for card front scored same as card stock.

White card stock scraps for stamping one large plane, two small planes, and one each of the three clouds.

Directions:

1. Glue smaller designer paper (blue) just inside the score lines. (see photo).

2. Glue the designer paper card front (gray) to second white cardstock panel, I recommend not putting glue in center where you will die cut circle out. Die cut circle out using the Spotlight on Nature dies. (see photo) You will have a nice die cut circle to use on another project.
3. Stamp one large and two small planes using Momento Black ink. Color using the light Smokey Slate and light and dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends. Stamp all three cloud stamps with Night of Navy ink.

4. Die cut all planes and clouds with the Adventurous Sky die set.

5. Stamp Happy Birthday in Night of Navy ink. Die cut with banner die. I slid the end of my die down closer to the y in birthday and ran through the machine a second time to cut shorter. You could just use your paper snips to dog ear it smaller if you prefer.

6. Die cut using a scrap of Smokey Slate card stock the cable that connects the banner to the plane. Cut on top of banner and glue under the largest plane. Glue largest plane to largest cloud.

7. If you want a sentiment on the back or sign card now would be a good time to do that. It is not impossible to do at the end, but easier now when flat and smooth.

8. Add Tear Tape to back panel up against both edges (see photo).

9. Add front to back lining up carefully. Also make sure your inner folds down on the card front and up on the inside. (see photo)

10. Glue smallest cloud inside the circle on the inside (Blue) panel. Add a small plane using a mini Stampin’ Dimensional. Glue medium sized cloud to the bottom left side of the front panel hanging over the first score line. (make sure not to add glue past the score line.

11. Attach the Large plane with cloud and banner to card front using mini Stampin’ Dimensionals, also making sure not to attach past the score line.

You are done. Imagine all the stamps sets and designer paper you could use with this card fold.

Beach Day - lifeguard station

This is another stamp set from the January – April 2024 mini catalog that carried over to the new catalog. Since Spring is ending soon and Summer will be here soon it is a perfect time for this card.

Supplies:

Stamp set: Beach Day

Ink: Momento Black, Balmy Blue, Crumb Cake and Misty Moonlight

Stampin’ Blends: light Balmy Blue, light and dark Crumb Cake, dark Misty Moonlight, dark Old Olive, dark Pumpkin Pie, dark Real Red

Paper: Thick White, Misty Moonlight and Wild Wheat card stock

Accessories: Stamp, Cut and Emboss machine, Beach Day dies, Water Painter, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Tombo Glue, Paper Trimmer, Paper Snips, Simply Scored, Bone folder

Cutting Instructions:

Misty Moonlight card base 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”

Wild Wheat mat: 3 7/8”x 5 1/8” (I actually trimmed off another 1/16” of an inch on both the top and bottom because I wanted more of the Misty Moonlight and less of the Wild Wheat

White: 3 ¾” x 5” card front, and 4” x 5 ¼” inside

White scraps for stamped and die cut images.

Directions:

1.     Do a water wash on both the card front and the inside using as little water on your brush as possible. I didn’t measure but I did about 1 1/2” of Crumb Cake and the remainder in Balmy Blue. I do a wash with just water on the section I will be adding color, (ex: just where the Crumb Cake ink will go). I then ink up an acrylic block with ink and add one drop of water, mix and lightly brush in side to side strokes to add color. Then wipe color off brush and block and repeat with Balmy Blue ink. Set both aside to dry.

2.     Stamp Lifeguard station, surf board, ball and three birds using Memento Black on a scrap of White card stock. Color using Stampin’ Blends. I colored all images with the dark Blend but used the light Balmy Blue and light Crumb cake to color in the walk up to lifeguard station to hide the white. I also used the light Balmy Blue on the double window pane since it did not cut out with the die. I left the white everywhere else around station but you could use the blends and also color that in. Make sure you use the light blend for those areas as the dark with not match your water wash. Stamp sentiment using Misty Moonlight ink on a ½” scrap. Note: I cut 5 – 6 sheets of white 5 ¼” then 5 ¼”, then turn and cut both pieces at 4” to keep a supply of card fronts ready. I put the scraps in a small container to use when I need sentiment strips like used here. Snip of ends of sentiment strip at a slight angle on both sides.

3.     Using Tombo glue attach the Wild Wheat mat to the card front then add water washed panel. Use Tombo glue to attach the sentiment strip and two of the birds. One bird, the lifeguard station, surf board and the ball are attached using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

4.     Stamp sentiment on inside using Misty Moonlight ink. (your color washed panel should be dry by this time – if not heat dry before stamping). Add beach chair and umbrella using Tombo Glue.

5.     Add beach chair, umbrella or surfboard on envelope and you are done!!! Note: sometimes I color the stamp images on the envelope, sometimes I just leave them uncolored.

Perennial Lavender and Comforting Thoughts

I love this fun fold I found on Robin Armbrecth’s blog post from January of this year. So I looked at my current Designer Series papers because I knew I needed three coordinating papers. I chose to use the Lavender set. This set came out in the January – April 2024 mini catalog but I just never got a chance to use it. Luckily for me Stampin’ Up! Not only carried over the stamp and dies, but the Designer paper as well.

This card gets it name because it is z fold card, but also has a book binding fold. Then you cut your three different designer papers 4 inch by (you guessed it) 1 inch, 2 inch and 3 inch. Imagine the fun you can have with this fold and all you paper packs.

I’ve been wanting to use my lavender set since January and this fold said today is that day. I hope you like it.

Supplies:

Stamps: Painted Lavender and Comforting Thoughts.

Ink: Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather and Lost Lagoon

Paper: Lost Lagoon and Vanilla cardstock, Perennial Lavender designer series paper.

Accessories: Stamp Cut and Emboss machine, Painted Lavender dies. I used the Radiating stitches dies and afterwards realized they are no longer available but you could use the Everyday details dies instead.

Tombo glue, Stampin’ dimensionals, Paper Trimmer, Paper snips, Simply Scored, Bone folder, Sponge dauber.

Cutting Instructions:

Lost Lagoon Card base: 4 ¼” x 11. Score at 2 1/8”, 4 ¼” and 5 ½”. Cut a Lost Lagoon 3 ¼” x 4 ¼” panel.

Designer paper: Cut one at 1” x 4”, second paper 2” X 4 then your third paper 3” X 4”

Cut Vanilla at 2” x 4”

Directions:

1.    Attach the 3” x 4” designer paper to 3 ¼” x 4 ¼” cardstock panel. Fold card in half (athe 5 ½” score line and glue the 2” designer paper to inside right side. Glue 1” designer paper to front on the left side, between the score lines. Fold the first score line back to center fold and add glue on that panel. (see photo) Add panel with 3” designer series paper to panel (some with hang over on both sides, line up to look good according to the paper you chose.

2.     Open card and add glue between the 5 ½” and 4 ¼” score lines to create the book binding fold. (see photo). Close card in half to attach.

3. Die cut panel using the Everyday Details die from a scrap of Lost Lagoon. Attach to 3” designer series paper panel making sure not to add glue to portion that will hang over.  (see photo) Cut a scrap of Vanilla cardstock to fit inside die cut. Stamp 4 Lavender flowers. This is a two ste3p stamp. Stamp the larger stamp in Gorgeous Grape and the smaller on top using Highland Heather. Stamp the stems using Lost Lagoon. Die cut all pieces using the Perennial Lavender dies.
4.     Stamp sentiment from Comforting Thoughts stamp set in Lost Lagoon ink. Glue one flower to panel on right side tucking the stem under the flower. Cut off any stem hanging over. Glue panel between score line and 2” designer series paper.

5.     Add Stampin’ dimensionals to one lavender flower and add to center of die cut panel. Add one flower to each side at a slight angle tucking stems under and cutting of excess.

6.     Your done! Wasn’t this a fun, yet easy card?
