Gone Fishing pop up tackle box card

I love the fact that the Gone Fishing dies make a little tackle box. The stamp set has some great Fathers stamps if you need a Father’s Day or birthday card for dad. You can view the set here: https://www.stampinup.com/search/gone%20fishing?sort=relevance&ts=1716831052496

There are several videos showing how to add the pop ups to card. You can check out a video from Rachel at Stamp your art out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-RGPieVmQx4

I chose not to make the top of the card the top of the tackle box but more of a regular card front. Here is my version.) I chose not to make the top of the card the top of the tackle box but more of a regular card front. Here is my version.

Supplies used

Stamps: Gone Fishing, So Sincere and Unbounded love

Ink: Momento black, Real Red, Granny Apple Green, Crushed Curry and Gray Granite

Paper: Basic Gray (Gray Granite or Smokey Slate would also work well for this card) and Basic White cardstock and Silver Foil

Accessories: Stamp Cut and Emboss Machine, Gone Fishing and Deckle Circles dies, Tombo glue, mini Stampin’ Dimensionals, Acrylic blocks, Blender Pen

Instructions:

Cutting:

Gray:

Card Base: 5 ½” x 8 ½”, score at 4 ¼”

Bottom Tray: 4 7/8” x 3 ½”

Bottom divider: cut 2, 5” x 3 5/8”

Top Tray: 4 7/8” x 1 ½”

Top Divider: cut 2,  5 ¼” x 1 ¾”

Mechanisms – 2 each

1 x 2 ½”, score at ½”, 1 ¼” and 1 ¾” cut in half to ½” makes 2

5” x 2”, score at ½”, 2 ½” and 3”, cut to 1” makes 2

Assembly:

1.     Die cut Basic Gray card stock according to measurements above. You could also use Smokey Slate or Gray Granite if you prefer.

2.     To round corners of card use the largest die making sure the die at the top of the card is above card so it doesn’t cut that edge. (see photo). Die cut the 2 ¾” Deckle circle die white a scrap of Basic white cardstock. You can use a larger die is necessary to fit whatever sentiment you desire. Die cut two hooks and three weights with Silver Foil. Note: I always put a piece of paper on top of my foil and dies before sending through the machine so if my top plate has any scratches it will not scratch my foil.

3.     Glue the two matching divider dies together to give tackle box height and dimension, glue on base. Cut off top border of the top divider (or it will be to long for card), and add to base. Trim off excess. (see photo)

4.     Stamp sentiment in bottom left section of tackle box in Momento Black. I used a sentiment from the So Sincere stamp set, stamped in  Basic gray . I think the gray is a bit to light, so I recommend black instead. Stamp inside sections of tackle box (above, not on top of sentiment, if room) using Gray Granite ink and the wavy stamp from the Gone Fishing stamp set.  Die cut circle using the Deckle circles die. Stamp sentiment (I used one from Unbounded Love stamp set) in Momento Black and then the stamp the waves in Gray Granite, but not on top of sentiment. Stamp the entire front of card with the wavy stamp also using Granite ink. (The Basic Gray was too dark in my opinion). Stamp Two fish and bobber for front of card, and whatever lures desired for inside tackle box. I Stamped the inside of the two first with Crushed Curry, stamping the second one without reinking for a light color. I used Real Red on the bobbers and the one lure with hooks. I used Granny Apple Green on the one fish lure and other lure that has hooks. The lure with the feather is stamped in Gray Granite then with Crushed Curry. I also stamped the inside of the second fish lure in Crushed Curry.

5.     Add lures to tackle box sections as shown using tombo glue. Glue Circle to card front. Glue the darker fish and bobble using Tombo glue, then pop up the lighter fish using Stampin’ Dimensionals

6.       Add two larger pop up mechanisms to card and add bottom divider. Add two smaller pop up mechanisms to card and add top divider.

Friendly fins Hammerhead shark card

I love this set. The hammerhead shark reminds me of when I went scuba diving with my son in Mexico. After we arrived he said “I’m so excited, oh and by the way it’s hammerhead mating season!” When I asked why he didn’t tell me before, he said he was afraid I wouldn’t go. Luckly we saw a seal, eel, puffer fish and a lot of other cool stuff, but no sharks.

When you combine the cool stamps in this set with the even cooler dies you can come up with some pretty amazing cards. I plan to use it in my scrapbooks as well.

Here is a list of supplies used.

Stamps: Friendly Fins

Ink: Coastal Cabana, Basic Gray, Gray Granite, Momento Black, Daffodil Delight and Calypso Coral

Stampin’ Blends: Shaded Spruce

Paper: Coastal Cabana, Thick White and Basis White card stock. Watercolor paper.

Accessories: Stamp Cut and Emboss machine, Friendly fins and Deckle Circles dies, So Swirly embossding Folder, Specialty plate, Water painter, Acrylic blocks (H&B). Foam adhesive strips or Stampin’ Dimensionals, Tombo glue, Tear & Tape, Paper snips, Paper trimmer, Simply Scored, Sponge daubers.

Instructions:

1.     Cut card base of 5 ½” x 8 ½” and score at 4 ¼”. Emboss card front with the So Swirly embossing folder using the Stamp Cut and Emboss machine and use the Specialty plate instead of the clear plate. Cut water color paper 3 ¾”x x 5”. This gives you two card fronts out of one sheet of our Fluid 100 watercolor paper.

2.     Add Coastal Cabana ink to you H block by pressing the ink pad directly on the block. Drop several drops of water on the watercolor paper and do a wash with just the water. Using the largest Water Painter add 2 = 3 drops of water to block and mix with ink. Color on paper with brush in a long seeping motion leaving the very top white. Set aside to dry.

3.     Cut an inside panel of white card stock 4” x 5 ¼” and wiping most of the water off the brush do a light water color wash, make sure not to use to much water and do less coverage than on the front. Set aside.

4.     Die cut the Coral Reef, two plants, two rocks and three small fish. Make a wash of the Calypso Coral in like you did the Coastal Cabana. Take the water painter and dip in the ink that does not have water added and color the three small fish, set aside. Using the watered down ink, water color wash the coral reef, leaving the coral on the top right side. If you accidently color it do not worry, the Stampin’ Blend with cover it. Water wash the rocks with Gray Granite ink.

5.     Water color the two plants and the coral left blank with a Coastal Cabana without watering down much to get a deeper color, or color all with the Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Blend.

6.     Stamp the hammer head outline and the Three fish using Momento Ink. Stamp two step stamp with Gray Granite for the shark and Daffodil Delight for the fish. I also added a light wash of gray Granite on the white portion of the shark. Die cut out using dies from the die set.

7.     Stamp sentiment on inside of card and stamp shark same as the front of card. Die cut out bubbles on the inside and panel and the front panel.

8.     Using a distressing tool (retired) or scissors rough up the edges of the water color paper. Add Coastal Cabana ink to the edges using a sponge dauber. Also sponge the edges of the card front.

9.     Glue inside panel and Water color panel to card. Using Foam Adhesive tape or Stampin’ Dimensionals to coral reef. Glue the rock on the right side down and pop up the one on the left. Add a small amount to glue to tip of one plant and tuck between coral and rock. Glue two Coral fish under the reef and one on the reef. Glue the second plant down tucking behind the reef on the left side. Glue the three Daffodil fish above the reef. Note: using the smallest water painter brush carefully add a light wash of Coastal Cabana between the fish to cover the white area. Wipe off most of the water from your brush before coloring so ink will not bleed onto your fish. Using Stampin’ Dimensionals pop up the shark and admire your artwork!

Adventurous Sky Airplane card -airplane die

I knew I had to have this entire suite the first time I looked in the catalog. The front of the card uses the airplane die, the designer paper, the sentiment and cloud stamps plus the cloud dies.

Card base is 9 3/4'" x 11", scored at 4 1/4". Cloud paper is 4" x 4". Blue designer paper is 1" x 4. Inside white is 4' x 4".

Card front: The sentiment is stamped in Night of Navy on top of the clouds that were stamped in Boho Blue after stamping off twice. The airplane and the small cloud are popped up. Note: Make sure to not add glue on the portion of the cloud that hangs over the front panel. Add only one mini dimensional at the top of the small cloud and place on large cloud with sentiment .

Inside: Stamp clouds, stamping off twice in Boho Blue, Stamp small airplane stamp on white scrap in Night of Navy. Using a Aqua painter color the plane using a dry/wet brush and ink from lid of stamp pad or press pad to block and pick up ink from there. Die cut and pop up using Stampin' Dimensionals.  A don't normally add dimensionals to the inside of a card but really though the little plane needed the dimension. Stamp sentiment in Night of Navy.

Stamp set: Adventurous Sky

Ink: Night of Navy and Boho Blue

Paper: Night of Navy and White cardstock, Take to the sky designer series paper, Silver Foil

Accessories: Stamp Cut and Emboss machine, Adventurous Sky dies, Stampin’ dimensionals, Tombo glue, paper trimmer, paper snips, Simply Scored.
