Easy Shaker card featuring Wishes and Wonder

You will not believe how easy it is to make a shaker card using the clear translucent medium envelopes from Stampin' Up! This was shown to us last weekend at the Stampin' Up! OnStage at home event for demonstrators. If you are interested in joining Stampin' Up! and attending these events please let me know. I would love to have you on my team.

If you love this deer then you need to see the stamp and die set I used on this card. You can view it here: https://www.stampinup.com/products/wishes-wonder-bundle-(english). I added a piece of cardstock vellum on top of the designer paper to soften the color.

Here is also a photo of the inside of the card.

All supplies Stampin' Up! unless noted and available at my one line store. www.janetloves2stamp.stampinup.net

Poinsettia Place bridge card

I really love this poinsettia made with the Velvet paper and Poinsettia dies from the current mini catalog. The dies not only cut but emboss the veins. So beautiful in person. My friend showed me a card similar to this that another demonstrator had done. This is my version. This card folds in on one side as shown in photo to fit into a standard A2 envelope.
All supplies Stampin' Up! and available on my online store.

Stamps: Poinsettia Petals

Ink: Real Red & Garden Green

Paper: Garden Green and Whisper White card stock, Red Velvet paper and Poinsettia Place Designer series paper.

Accessories: Stamp, Cut and Emboss machine, Poinsettia dies, Paper trimmer, Simply Scored scoring took, Bone folder, Stamparatus, Acrylic block, Tombo Multi liquid glue, Beaded pearls

Directions:

1. Start with a Garden Green card base 8 x 3 1/4". Score at 1 1/4", 2 1/2", 5 1/2" and 6 3/4"

2. Cut a strip of Garden 1 1/8" by 5 1/2".  Cut Whisper White 2 7/8" x 4 3/8". Cut one piece of Designer Series paper 1" x 5 3/8" and four pieces at 1 1/8" x 4 3/8".

3. Die cut poinsettia using all three sizes with the embossing dies inside the cutting dies. Glue all three pieces together with Tombo multi liquid glue and add a Beaded Pearl. Set aside.

4. Stamp your sentiment with Real Red ink using the Stamparatus for perfect placement. Using an acrylic block and Garden Green ink stamp leaves at the top left and right side of sentiment, allowing leaves to go off the page.

5. Glue stamp piece and Designer paper to card as shown in photo. Fold card like in second photo to add strip lining up at the edges of card about 1 3/4" from bottom. (decide if you will sign on inside or back of card before adding this piece). You can add an additional white panel to back of card to sign if you don't want to sign on the inside.

6. Place poinsettia in desired location and add glue only where it will be attached to card.

Dove of Hope - watercolor technique

This amazing card is so easy to make and yet so elegant. There is a YouTube video by Beth Hill Rush that shows you step by step how to make. Thank you Beth for the awesome card and techniques. The supplies I used will be listed below since I did change a few things. I will also write out instructions below. I was amazed how well you can tell the difference between the white card front and the Dove. I used Shimmery White on the dove and our Fluid 101 watercolor paper for the card front. Here is a list of the supplies I used.

All supplies Stampin' Up! unless noted
Stamps: Dove of Hope
Ink: VersaMark and Misty Moonlight
Ink Refills: Misty Moonlight, Balmy Blue and Highland Heather.
Paper: Misty Moonlight and Whisper White cardstock, Silver Foil, Fluid 101 Watercolor paper and                 Shimmery White
Accessories: Stamp, Cut and Emboss machine, Magnetic Cutting Plate, Detailed Doves dies, Simply             Scored scoring tool, Paper trimmer, Paper snips, Tear & Tape, Silver embossing powder, Heat tool,         Water painters, Silver metallic pearls. Tombo Multi purpose liquid glue, Simply Shammy, Stampin'         Scrub, Stamparatus, Stampin' Dimensionals, Take Your Pick tool, Embossing Buddy (retired)                 Watercolor palette (not Stampin' Up!) I also used Ornate Layer dies*

Instructions:
Card Base: Misty Moonlight 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4", Silver Foil 4" x 5 1/4" (*I used the Ornate Layer die in the         center to die cut a piece to use on another project later, since you only see a small portion of the            silver), Watercolor paper 5" x 3 3/4"
Inside panel: Whisper White 4" X 5 1/4"
Dove: Shimmery White

Place one drop of ink refill in lid of ink pad or in separate wells on a watercolor palette. Using a Sharpie I labeled each color (You can remove the sharpie writing later with paper towel and hand sanitizer.

Lay the Tear & Tape on Watercolor paper where you want your color to go. Hold in place and use largest Water painter wet the entire circle, squeezing the water painter to keep it really wet. You can now remove the tear tape. Use the Medium water painter and squeeze a drop of water in each well with re-inker. Pick up ink and touch near the edge of the wet circle and ink will run, keep adding color until you have the desired amount. Squeeze water painter over your Stampin' Scrub to get wet and wipe off color before moving on to the next color. I did the Balmy Blue first the the Highland Heather and the Misty Moonlight last. Set aside to dry.

Die cut the Dove body and two of both detail and solid wings. I added liquid glue to solid portion and left the rest unglued. Glue one wing to back of body upward and one to front between the back wing and tail of body.

When your watercolor paper is completely dry  rub where sentiment will go with embossing buddy or dryer sheet. Stamp sentiment in VersaMark and pout on Silver Embossing Power. Tap off excess back into container. I store my embossing powder in a plastic sandwich size container. If you keep yours in original container use a scrap of paper to catch excess power and bend to make a funnel to pour back into container. Heat with Heat tool until shiny. Do not over heat as you can scorch your paper.

Add silver and water color paper to card front. Add dove with Stampin' Dimensionals. Using the Take Your Pick tool pick up and place three Silver Metallic pearls to card.

I placed the dove and sentiment both on my Stamparatus for perfect placement and stamped on Whisper White panel in Misty Moonlight. Then glued to inside of the card. Add the small dove also to back tap of envelope if desired.

Whale swinging card

Love that the whale on this card swings back and forth. Here is the video I cased this card from: https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/swingingtentcard/?utm_medium=Email&utm_source=ExactTarget&utm_campaign=.

I made the following changes: 1. I did not make it a tent card. 2. I turned the brad because I did not like the back showing. 3. I used the Whale of a Time designer series paper, putting the cut out portion on the inside. 4. I changed the sentiment. I left off the ribbon and embellishments. I used a turtle from the designer paper instead of stamping it. 5. I used Pretty Peacock as my card base. Pretty Peacock is not used in the paper but I feel is coordinate beautifully. I also stamped my whale in Pretty Peacock.

All supplies used are current Stampin' Up! except for the mini brad and 1/8" hole punch, both are retired products.

Products used:    Available in my on line store (except brad and 1/8" hole punch)

Way to Goat spinner card

I wanted to make a spinner card and was going through my stamps looking for an image to spin when I came across the Way to Goat stamp set. I think it looks like this goat is dancing so it was perfect for a spinner. Then I started looking for sentiments, and realized the perfect sentiment were right in the same stamp set. This card is so easy to make and with a sale on designer paper the entire month of October it really makes this card perfect. 4. Using scraps stamp one goat using Momento Tuxedo Black ink. Reink and stamp a second time on the Silicone craft sheet. Immediatly place second scrap of white on top of stamped image and rub to transfer ink. Be sure to hold with one hand while rubbing with the other to prevent slipping. Using the dark Smokey Slate Stampin' Blend color the horns, use the light Smokey Slate Stampin' Blend to go over all the artists lines on the goat. Fussy cut goats.

Playful Pets slimline cat and dog card

Two great cards and neither use any stamps or ink! Shocking I know. But I really love these cards. I tried to find the cards I cased but couldn't, if I find them later I will edit and give credit where credit is due. What is funny is that I saw these cards, made them and then looked at the cards I was inspired by and we used the same cats and dogs. Great minds think alike, right? I did use different paper for my background and I always have to add something to the inside. I did fussy cut the cats and dogs and popped them up. Also the cute words on both cards were cut from a sheet of the paper. The inside is a great place to use a dog from the designer paper that has been cut off on the edge of the paper. I think it is still adorable. For the cat card I opted for a ball of yarn from the paper I used as the background. There are stamps and dies that match this paper but I did not use them on these cards.

All items to make these cards are from Stampin' Up! and available on my online store. And the great news is this month (October 2020) the paper is 15% off. Check it out here: www.Janetloves2stamp.stampinup.net

Have a Hoot owl on Round Tin

These awesome round tins are in the current Holiday catalog. With a size of 3 3/4" x 1 1/4" there is plenty of room to treats for your favorite goblin. I cased this topper with a minor change using the Have a Hoot bundle. The layering round circle dies fit perfect on this tin. I used a sponge dauber to sponge Pumpkin Pie and Bumblebee on the white background. Stamped the Owl with Momento Black on white circle and scrap. Colored the owl on the scrap with Stampin blends, die cut and popped up with Stampin Dimensionals. I colored the moon with the dark Daffodil. The owl with the light and dark Crumb Cake, his wings with light and dark Rich Razzleberry, his feet with dark Crumb Cake and the branch with Light Soft Suede. I also sponged Daffodil around the die cuts on the white areas. I then added the Black glittered organdy ribbon on the side using Tear & Tape. Have a Hoot Halloween card

I couldn't decide about the Have a Hoot bundle. I wanted it but it wasn't at the top of my list. Then I saw someone make a card similar to this and that was it. I had to have it. Besides the three owls I used here it also has a stamp of an owl holding a present. two owls under mistletoe and four owls on a branch with stocking hats on. There is also five great coordinating sentiments. So with this stamp set you can make all your Halloween and Christmas cards. The dies that come in this bundle are amazing. The die I used here is one die that cuts out the three windows. How cool is that? Then look at the detail in the spider web I used on the inside. The stamp set and dies can be purchase separately or in a bundle saving you 10% and available at my online store. Visit www.Janetloves2stamp.stampinup.net to purchase.

Love of Leaves Slimline card

Here is my version of the popular Slimline card. I am really loving the Love Of Leaves stamp set and coordination dies. I have seen a lot of cards where they cut a leaf out of the card front and put designer paper in the negative space so I thought why not do three leaves with three different patterns of designer paper. I thought even with the three different papers it still needed something subtle to fill the white space and chose to use the Birch background stamp in Mint Macaroon stamped off. I really like how it turned out. I then took one of the cut out leaves and added it to the inside tucking the stem under my sentiment piece with one petal over top. I then added a sentiment to the bottom and some linen thread. I am happy with the result. All supplies are from Stampin' Up! and available at my online store at www.Janetloves2stamp.stampinup.net

All supplies Stampin' Up!:

Stamps: Love of Leaves and Birch

Ink: Mint Macaron and Cajun Craze

Paper: Very Vanilla and Cajun Craze card stock, Guilded Autumn designer series paper.

Accessories: Stamp, Cut and Emboss Machine, Magnetic cutting plate, Stitched Leaves Dies (sold separately on in a bundle with the stamp set, that saves you 10 %), Linen thread, Stampin' Dimensionals, Triple Banner punch, Trimmer, Paper snips, Simply Scored scoring tool, Sponge daubers or sponge. Tombo Multi purpose liquid glue.

Directions:

1. Card base: Cajun Craze 8 1/2" x 7", score at 3 1/2"

2. Front and inside panel: Whisper White 8 1/2" x 3 1/4". Stamp the Birch background stamp on front panel stamping off on scrap paper first. Place leaves on card front and cut out using the Stamp, Cut and Emboss Machine.

3 . Designer Paper: Cut one mint pattern 3" x 3" for bottom leaf. Cut one Cajun pattern paper 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" for center leaf. Cut a different leaf 2 x 2 1/4" or place how you would want pattern to show and cut a square.  Glue patterned paper to back side of card front making sure the pattern shows the way you desire.

4. Wrap linen thread round card front three times and tie a knot. Glue card front to front of card.

5. Stamp sentiment on a scrap of white and punch with Triple Banner punch. Using dimensionals attach to front of the card. Stamp sentiment on inside panel and attach. Take the largest leaf cut out of front attach to inside of card. I tucked the stem under the panel and put one leave over the panel. Fold card over to crease the one leaf before glue sets.

Prized Peony mask card

Today I want to share with you this cool card featuring the Peony Garden Suite in the current Stampin' Up! Idea book and catalog. This fun card opens up to not only a card, but a surprise gift of a mask. I used a sentiment I had left over from the Share Sunshine download earlier this year. But you could add any sentiment that you currently have on hand. I think this card could be used for any occasion. All items used to make this card, besides the mask of course are available on my web site. Simply click on the shop now button on your left. Thank you for stopping by.  Please subscribe to receive notifications on when I post and also sign up for my email newsletter. Thanks again. Happy Stampin!
