Love of Leaves Slimline card

Here is my version of the popular Slimline card. I am really loving the Love Of Leaves stamp set and coordination dies. I have seen a lot of cards where they cut a leaf out of the card front and put designer paper in the negative space so I thought why not do three leaves with three different patterns of designer paper. I thought even with the three different papers it still needed something subtle to fill the white space and chose to use the Birch background stamp in Mint Macaroon stamped off. I really like how it turned out. I then took one of the cut out leaves and added it to the inside tucking the stem under my sentiment piece with one petal over top. I then added a sentiment to the bottom and some linen thread. I am happy with the result. All supplies are from Stampin' Up! and available at my online store at www.Janetloves2stamp.stampinup.net

Directions:

1. Card base: Cajun Craze 8 1/2" x 7", score at 3 1/2"

2. Front and inside panel: Whisper White 8 1/2" x 3 1/4". Stamp the Birch background stamp on front panel stamping off on scrap paper first. Place leaves on card front and cut out using the Stamp, Cut and Emboss Machine.

3 . Designer Paper: Cut one mint pattern 3" x 3" for bottom leaf. Cut one Cajun pattern paper 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" for center leaf. Cut a different leaf 2 x 2 1/4" or place how you would want pattern to show and cut a square.  Glue patterned paper to back side of card front making sure the pattern shows the way you desire.

4. Wrap linen thread round card front three times and tie a knot. Glue card front to front of card.

5. Stamp sentiment on a scrap of white and punch with Triple Banner punch. Using dimensionals attach to front of the card. Stamp sentiment on inside panel and attach. Take the largest leaf cut out of front attach to inside of card. I tucked the stem under the panel and put one leave over the panel. Fold card over to crease the one leaf before glue sets.

6. Don't forget to decorate your envelope. You can make yourself or purchase. Stampin' Up! does not sell envelopes this size.
