Beautiful Wings in Pink Pirouette

A friend of mine has a birthday today (Happy Birthday Karla!) and she likes pink, so I had to pull out my Pink Pirouette since it is returning and will be one of ur core colors starting in July 2010. I totally cases a card on Stampin' Connection by Maurita Wilkerson. I changed to pink and added sponging (I tried not to sponge, but just couldn't control myself) I stamped the sentiment in Regal Rose to make it pop more, so thought adding sponging in Regal Rose on the butterflies and around the card tied it all together.

Flower Fancy Mother Day Resist
When I saw the border that Marie-Josée Trudel in Canada did on a scrapbook page using Flower Fancy and the Resist technique I just knew I had to make a card with the same technique. Her blog is in French but you can view her card here: http://alapause.blogspot.com/2010/01/page-coup-de-coeur.html. Thank you Marie-Josee for your great card and inspiration. As you can see I was a little heavier with the sponging than Denise. We also decided that the Hodgepodge Hardware was a great addition to the card. I think my mom will love it. Now I just had to find the time to make another copy for my sample book.

My inspiration for this beautiful card layout came from Sandi MacIver, but Denise and I opted to leave the sentiment off the front of the card. We also changed the colors, paper and I used a different punch.

Simply Adorned Chain and Charm
I have been wanting to make one of these charms for quite awhile, but never seemed to have the time. Both of these are cased (copy and shared everything) from samples I saw at leadership and convention, I just changed the color.  So Thursday, when I needed a gift for a friend of mine, I immediately thought of the Simply Adorned. Now that I have made one I will definately have to make one for myself. I really love the way the back turned out and will have to do that again on mine. The really great thing about the Simply Adorned Charms is that they are lockets so you can change the insert to fit your mood, the season, or your outfit. Can you imagine having a necklace to match every outfit you own, and it only taking up the room of a small box. You can even put a picture instead of your stamped art.

All supplies Stampin' Up!
Front (initial):
Stamps: Tiny Tags, Brushstroke Alphabet (retired)
Paper: Whisper White
Ink: Black StazOn, Soft Suede, Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry classic pads
Accessories: Soft Suede Stampin' Write Marker, Color Spritzer Tool, Stampin' Dimensionals

back (bird):
Stamps: Eastern Influence
Paper: Whisper White
Ink: Black StazOn
Accessories: Soft Suede, Pretty in Pink and Bashful Blue Stampin' Write Markers, blender pen
