Gone Fishing pop up tackle box card

I love the fact that the Gone Fishing dies make a little tackle box. The stamp set has some great Fathers stamps if you need a Father’s Day or birthday card for dad. You can view the set here: https://www.stampinup.com/search/gone%20fishing?sort=relevance&ts=1716831052496

There are several videos showing how to add the pop ups to card. You can check out a video from Rachel at Stamp your art out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-RGPieVmQx4

I chose not to make the top of the card the top of the tackle box but more of a regular card front. Here is my version.) I chose not to make the top of the card the top of the tackle box but more of a regular card front. Here is my version.

Supplies used

Stamps: Gone Fishing, So Sincere and Unbounded love

Ink: Momento black, Real Red, Granny Apple Green, Crushed Curry and Gray Granite

Paper: Basic Gray (Gray Granite or Smokey Slate would also work well for this card) and Basic White cardstock and Silver Foil

Accessories: Stamp Cut and Emboss Machine, Gone Fishing and Deckle Circles dies, Tombo glue, mini Stampin’ Dimensionals, Acrylic blocks, Blender Pen

Instructions:

Cutting:

Gray:

Card Base: 5 ½” x 8 ½”, score at 4 ¼”

Bottom Tray: 4 7/8” x 3 ½”

Bottom divider: cut 2, 5” x 3 5/8”

Top Tray: 4 7/8” x 1 ½”

Top Divider: cut 2,  5 ¼” x 1 ¾”

Mechanisms – 2 each

1 x 2 ½”, score at ½”, 1 ¼” and 1 ¾” cut in half to ½” makes 2

5” x 2”, score at ½”, 2 ½” and 3”, cut to 1” makes 2

Assembly:

1.     Die cut Basic Gray card stock according to measurements above. You could also use Smokey Slate or Gray Granite if you prefer.

2.     To round corners of card use the largest die making sure the die at the top of the card is above card so it doesn’t cut that edge. (see photo). Die cut the 2 ¾” Deckle circle die white a scrap of Basic white cardstock. You can use a larger die is necessary to fit whatever sentiment you desire. Die cut two hooks and three weights with Silver Foil. Note: I always put a piece of paper on top of my foil and dies before sending through the machine so if my top plate has any scratches it will not scratch my foil.

3.     Glue the two matching divider dies together to give tackle box height and dimension, glue on base. Cut off top border of the top divider (or it will be to long for card), and add to base. Trim off excess. (see photo)

4.     Stamp sentiment in bottom left section of tackle box in Momento Black. I used a sentiment from the So Sincere stamp set, stamped in  Basic gray . I think the gray is a bit to light, so I recommend black instead. Stamp inside sections of tackle box (above, not on top of sentiment, if room) using Gray Granite ink and the wavy stamp from the Gone Fishing stamp set.  Die cut circle using the Deckle circles die. Stamp sentiment (I used one from Unbounded Love stamp set) in Momento Black and then the stamp the waves in Gray Granite, but not on top of sentiment. Stamp the entire front of card with the wavy stamp also using Granite ink. (The Basic Gray was too dark in my opinion). Stamp Two fish and bobber for front of card, and whatever lures desired for inside tackle box. I Stamped the inside of the two first with Crushed Curry, stamping the second one without reinking for a light color. I used Real Red on the bobbers and the one lure with hooks. I used Granny Apple Green on the one fish lure and other lure that has hooks. The lure with the feather is stamped in Gray Granite then with Crushed Curry. I also stamped the inside of the second fish lure in Crushed Curry.

5.     Add lures to tackle box sections as shown using tombo glue. Glue Circle to card front. Glue the darker fish and bobble using Tombo glue, then pop up the lighter fish using Stampin’ Dimensionals

6.       Add two larger pop up mechanisms to card and add bottom divider. Add two smaller pop up mechanisms to card and add top divider.
