Cutting Instructions:
Misty
Moonlight card base 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”
Wild Wheat
mat: 3 7/8”x 5 1/8” (I actually trimmed off another 1/16” of an inch on both
the top and bottom because I wanted more of the Misty Moonlight and less of the
Wild Wheat
White: 3 ¾”
x 5” card front, and 4” x 5 ¼” inside
White scraps
for stamped and die cut images.
Directions:
1. Do a water wash on both the card
front and the inside using as little water on your brush as possible. I didn’t
measure but I did about 1 1/2” of Crumb Cake and the remainder in Balmy Blue. I
do a wash with just water on the section I will be adding color, (ex: just where
the Crumb Cake ink will go). I then ink up an acrylic block with ink and add
one drop of water, mix and lightly brush in side to side strokes to add color. Then
wipe color off brush and block and repeat with Balmy Blue ink. Set both aside
to dry.
2. Stamp Lifeguard station, surf board,
ball and three birds using Memento Black on a scrap of White card stock. Color
using Stampin’ Blends. I colored all images with the dark Blend but used the
light Balmy Blue and light Crumb cake to color in the walk up to lifeguard
station to hide the white. I also used the light Balmy Blue on the double
window pane since it did not cut out with the die. I left the white everywhere
else around station but you could use the blends and also color that in. Make sure
you use the light blend for those areas as the dark with not match your water
wash. Stamp sentiment using Misty Moonlight ink on a ½” scrap. Note: I cut 5 –
6 sheets of white 5 ¼” then 5 ¼”, then turn and cut both pieces at 4” to keep a
supply of card fronts ready. I put the scraps in a small container to use when
I need sentiment strips like used here. Snip of ends of sentiment strip at a
slight angle on both sides.
3. Using Tombo glue attach the Wild
Wheat mat to the card front then add water washed panel. Use Tombo glue to
attach the sentiment strip and two of the birds. One bird, the lifeguard
station, surf board and the ball are attached using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
4. Stamp sentiment on inside using Misty
Moonlight ink. (your color washed panel should be dry by this time – if not
heat dry before stamping). Add beach chair and umbrella using Tombo Glue.
5. Add beach chair, umbrella or surfboard
on envelope and you are done!!! Note: sometimes I color the stamp images on the
envelope, sometimes I just leave them uncolored.
