Potions & Spells Halloween card – Stampin’ Up!

 

Here is a fun Halloween card sure to please all your ghosts and goblens this year. I especially love the green oozing goo made out of Granny
Apple glimmer paper and the broom die cut. Halloween is only seven weeks away so now is a great time to get a jump on your spooky cards.

Stamps: Potions & Spells

Ink: Basic Gray, Granny Apple Green, Wild Wheat and Momento Black

Stampin’ Blends: Lemon Lime Twist, Wild Wheat, Pretty Peacock, Smokey Slate, Highland Heather and Color lifter

Paper: Wild Wheat, Pecan Pie, Lemon Lime twist, Granny Apple Green, Basic Gray, Basis White and Vanilla cardstock, Thoughtful Journey 6x6 dsp and Festive Glimmer12x12 dsp

Accessories: Stamp Cut & Emboss machine, Potions & Spells, Greeting of the Season and Spotlight on Nature dies, Wink of Stella, Blending Brushes, Take your pick tool, Tombo glue, Stampn’ Dimensional, Silicone Mat, Pierce Mat, Paper trimmer, paper snips

Cutting instructions:

Wild Wheat: card base: 8 ½” x 5 ½”, scrap for broom

Thoughtful Journey dsp: card front: 4” x 5 ¼”, scrap for moon.

Basic Gray scrap for cauldron

Granny Apple Green glimmer paper scrap for goo on cauldron

Granny Apple Green card stock scrap for bubbles

Pecan Pie scrap for broom handle

Lemon Lime Twist scrap for sentiment

Vanilla: inside card panel: 4” x 5 ¼”

White scraps to stamp bird, books and cat

 

Assembly instructions:

1. Cut card base using Wild Wheat card stock at 5 ½” X 8 ½”, score at 4 ¼”

2. Cut card front using Peacock dsp from the Thoughtful Journey paper at 4” x 5 ¼” and adhere to card base.

3. Using the Potions and Spells die set cut a moon using the Wild Wheat dsp from the Thoughtful journey dsp.

4. Die Cut bubbles out of Granny Apple greens scrap with die from Potion & spells die set. Add Wink of Stella glitter and set aside to dry.

5. Stamp bird, books and Cat using Momento Black ink on scrap white cardstock and color using Stampin’ blends listed above. Die cut using Potions & spells die set.

6. Stamp cauldron in Momento Black ink on Basic Gray scrap. Using a Blending brush and Basis Gray ink pad to add color to cauldon heaver around the edges.  Die cut using Potions & spells die set.

7. Die cut broom and handle using Wild Wheat and Pecan Pie scraps. Use blending brush to add color to broom using Wild Wheat ink.

8. Stamp sentiment using Momento Black ink on scrap of Lemon Lime Twist and die cut using die from the Greeting of the Season die set. Cut off right side.

9. Using Tombo liquid glue add Cauldron to card front then add Granny apple green goo at top. Glue book at the bottom left side partially on the cauldron. Glue sentiment about ¼” from top on the right side of card front. Glue handle to broom and adhere to card on the bottom right side. Postion bird on cauldron to see where to glue moon. Add bird using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Add bubbles randomly on card front.

10. Cut Vanilla panel for inside of card. Stamp sentiment in Momento black on Vanilla card stock. Add stamped bubble using Granny apple green in. Use blending brush to add small amount of Wild Wheat to bottom right side and glue down cat. Adhere panel to inside of card.

11. Don’t forgot to add either bird, books or cat to envelope.
