Supplies used:
Stamps: Friendly Seagulls
Ink:Momento Black, Azure Afternoon, Boho Blue
Stampin' Blends: light and dark Smokey Slate, dark Pumpkin Pie and dark Daffodil Delight
Paper: thick basic white
Accessories: Stamp Cut and Emboss machine, specialty plate, Soft Waves 3d embossing folder, blending brush, linen thread, tear tape, Tombo glue, Foam adhesive strips, Paper snips, Paper trimmer
Non -SU: post it note, 4x6 shadowbox frame, wine corks
Cutting instructions:
Basic White: 4"x6", 1/8" x 6, scraps to stamp seagulls
Assembly instructions:
1. Place post
it note across the 6” side of white panel about I ¼” from bottom.
2. Using the
blending brush and Azure Afternoon ink, sponge color to cover completely the 1 ¼”
x 6” making sure to blot brush on scrap paper and sponge starting off the paper
and blending onto the paper.
3. Remove post it note and reposition to cover already sponged area. Sponge Boho
Blue on remaining paper again blotting on scrap paper before sponging on paper.
4. Using the
Stamp Cut and Emboss machine with the specialty plate and the Soft waves 3d
embossing folder emboss only the Azure portion of panel. Placing only the Azure
portion in folder, you will have to run the folder through the machine
sideways.
5. Using the
Azure ink sponge again on the azure section only to emphasize the waves.
6. Stamp
sentiment centered and approximately ¾”
from top using Momento Black ink. I place both stamps together on one block and
stamped both at the same time. Lining up yours stamps on a grid paper or glass
mat with grids (face down) then picking them up with the block it helpful to
line them up straight.
7. Add a small
piece of tear tape (approx. ¼”) to back of wine cork about 3/8 down from top. Attach
linen thread to tear tape and wrap around cork five times. I added it to two
corks.
8. Place 1/8”
strip at the bottom of paper (not gluing down), this is to help you align the
corks on your panel. Add a line of glue
to each cork, on portion that has tear tape. Glue cork to panel almost touching
the strip. Approximately 3/8” to ½” from edge. Add three corks to left side and
two on right side.
9. Stamp
seagulls on a piece of scratch paper, color in using Stampin’ Blends and fussy
cut out. I did not fussy cut between the legs. Add Foam adhesive strips to back
on birds, remove backing and add second layer over top of first layer, to make
the birds pop up further.
10. Add to frame
and you have completed your shadow box art. The frames I bought have an easel on
the back to set on a table.
