Reindeer Fun and Decorative trees

I love, love, love this reindeer die so when I saw Klompen Stampers add the presents with him I just had to make one. In my version I added die cut trees and the Brick embossing folder.

Supplies used:

Stamps: Reindeer Fun and Decorative trees

Ink: Garden Green Stampin’ Write marker

Paper: Real Red, Garden Green, Granny Apple Green and white card stock, Take a bow 6x6 designer series paper.

Die sets: Peaceful Season, Reindeer Fun and Decorative Trees

Accessories: Stamp, Cut and emboss machine, Exposed Brick 3d embossing folder, Specialty plate, Wink of Stella (glitter glue), Take your pick took and Take your pick die brush tip, Silicone mat, Tombo glue, Foam Adhesive strips or Stampin Dimensionals, Paper Trimmer and Paper snips

Cutting directions:

Real Red card base: 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”, scrap to cut bows

White cardstock: cut two 4” x 5 ¼” for card front and inside of card.

Garden Green and Granny Apple Green scraps to cut trees and bows

Basic Beige, Pecan Pie and Early Espresso scraps to cut reindeer

Take a bow designer series paper. Cut eight presents, one from each side of the designer paper. Seven I cut 1” x ¾” the eight 1” x 1 1/8”.

Assembly instructions:

1. Cut and score card base (5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”) using Real Red cardstock.

2. Cut card front and inside mat (4” x 5 ¼”) with White cardstock.

3. Using the Exposed brick 3D embossing folder with the Specialty plate emboss white card front. Glue to front of card.

4. Die cut trees using Garden Green and Granny Apple Green cardstock. I used Granny Apple for the top layer on all the trees except the Dotted tree where the Granny Apple is the base and Garden Green is top layer. For the small trees die cut a garden green tree for background and trim off the bottom part to the size of the tree front. I die cut four different tree fronts, three for the front and one for the inside of the card. Glue three trees to card front letting a small bit of the tree extend over the white mat.

5. Die cut eight bows, two in Granny Apple Green and three of Real Red and Garden Green. Cut and small strip of Garden Green and Real Red for the two bows that don’t have ribbon going down the package. Add Wink of Stella to all the bows.

6. Cut with paper trimmer eight presents, one from each side of the designer paper. Seven I cut 1” x ¾” the eight 1” x 1 1/8”. Add bows.

7. Die Cut Reindeer. Early Espresso for the antlers, Basic Beige for middle layer and Pecan Pie for the top. Glue together.

8. Glue one present to bottom of Reindeer. Using the Silicone mat add the additional packages. I only added glue on the corners or side of packages I was adding another package to. Allow to dry then add Stampin’ Dimensionals or I used Foam Adhesive strips to back of reindeer and packages and add to card front trimming off any of the tree that extends over the card front.

9. To get the sentiment on the inside of the card I used a Garden Green Stampin’ Write marker coloring the marker directly to the stamp being careful to only color the A very merry and not the work Christmas. Use a stamp positioner so you can color in the stamp twice and stamp in the exact spot as the first stamped image.

10. Die cut the word Christmas out of Real Red cardstock and the shadow out of Garden Green. Glue together and add to inside mat under the A Very Merry. Add remaining die cut tree to the bottom right corner and adhere to inside of card, once again trimming off any part of the tree that extends over the Red card base.

Your card is now complete and ready to send or give to a special someone in your life.

If adding flip flap cut additional photo and add journaling to fourth mat.

Assembly instructions:

Arrange eleven Postage pieces on the left side of first page and one small square in the top right. Arrange ten postage pieces on the right side of page two. Add two (second largest rectangle vertical and the third largest horizonal) to the top left. You want to arrange postage before stamps so you know if you need to stamp with pieces landscape or portrait. Stamp with Basic Beige ink on Perennial Postage dies using images from Frozen Edges (large snowflake), Filled with Cheer (string of lights and Presents with Poinsettias), Reindeer Fun (small snowflakes, Bells and tree), Reindeer memories (Falalalala, and dashes and dots). Sponge all edges with Basic Beige ink and a sponge dauber. Adhere to page using Tombo Glue or Snail Adhesive.

Stamp the word Memories and the When-where-what stamp from the Reindeer Memories stamp set using Early Espresso ink. I cut the word festive and memories apart before stamping. Adhere Memories panel to Garden Green mat.

Die cut the word Christmas (Peaceful Season dies) once in Basic Beige and once in Early Espresso. Glue Beige word on Espresso.

Die cut three tags from the Designer tags die set, three in Basic Beige and three in Sage. Stamp “oh so jolly” with Early Espresso on one Sage tag close to the top. Sponge edges of all six tags in Basic Beige using a sponge dauber.

Adhere 4”x 6” mat to first (left) tucking one Sage and one Beige tag under mat on the right side near the bottom. Adhere die cut Christmas above mat and stamped Memories below. Adhere 3” x 3” and 3” x 4” mats to second (right) page tucking two tags behind the 3”x 3” mats. Above the mat on the top right mat and to the left side on the bottom left mat. Note. If using a flip flap and you want to place it on the page protector you can glue down all mats now, if you plan to cut your page protector and tuck flip flap behind mat, you need to add flip flap before gluing mat.

Die cut five reindeers using the Reindeer Fun dies with scraps of Early Espresso, Pecan Pie, Crumb Cake, Pebbled Path and Basic Beige cardstock. I die cut all five antlers with Early Espresso but alternated the other two dies with the Pecan, Crumb Cake, Beige and Pebbled Path so all five reindeers where different. I added a small piece of Red glimmer paper to one reindeer. Adhere reindeers with Tombo glue. Die cut two wreaths from same die set one in Mossy Meadow and one in Garden Green. Slip one reindeer in each wreath and adhere. I glued to the postage die four of the reindeers, the one with the red nose I popped up using Stampin’ dimensionals and put him in the top left postage piece on the second page.

Add photos, journaling and flip flap if using one.

Cutting directions

Mossy Meadow card stock:  mats 3 ½” x 3 ½” - cut eight

Vanilla card stock: 3 ¼” x 3 ¼” cut eight, Vanilla scraps for stamping and both die cut circles in the center.

Assembly instructions:

1. Emboss Using the Stamp Cut and Emboss machine emboss one vanilla square with the Embossed brick,. two with the Birch, one with the Painted Texture and one with the Cane Weave embossing folders, Glue to Mossy Meadow mats, (you will have one left over).

2. Die cut two circles in Vanilla card stock using the Spotlight on Nature dies. The largest circle is 3 3/4” and the smaller one 3 ½”. Stamp sentiment from the Autumn Expressions stamp set using Mossy Meadow ink on the smaller circle. Emboss Using the Stamp Cut and Emboss machine and the Leaf Fall embossing folder.

3. Use a Blending Brush and Cajun Craze ink to blend color on the large circle. You don’t have to ink the center just about ¼” edge. Glue small circle to large Circle.

4. On one vanilla mat (not embossed) stamp the wheat stamp from the Autumn Expression stamp set. To ink the stamp use Stampin’ Write markers. After coloring the stamp, breath on it to moisten the ink before stamping. Emboss with the Embossed Brick embossing folder and glue to your remaining Mossy Meadow mat. On a scrap of vanilla card stock stamp the wheat again using the same technique used previously.

5. Stamp the pail from the Country Flowers stamp set using Momento Black ink. Color with Smokey Slate Stampin’ blends. Die cut both pieces and glue wheat behind the pail keeping the wheat and pail height at approximately 3 ¾”. Pop Pail and wheat using Stampin’ Dimensionals and adhere to vanilla stamped mat.

6. Glue wooden truck with Tombo Glue on the vanilla mat embossed with the Painted Texture embossing folder.

7. Stamp the crate and pumpkin/floral stamps on a scrap of Vanilla cardstock. Stamp the crate with Early Espresso and the pumpkin/floral image with Momento Black. I colored the pumpkin with the light and dark Stampin’ Blends. The corn, flowers and leaves with watercolor pencils. I did not blend with water. If you want your one sunflower to hang over the crate while the pumpkin is tucked behind fussy cut around the bottom right two – three leaves. Glue with Tombo glue and pop up on the embossed brick mat using Stampin’ dimensionals. Stamp and die cut four pumpkins from whatever stamp sets you have. My pumpkins came from the retired Autumn Harvest stamp set. I colored them with my light and dark Pumpkin Pie Stampin Blends. The two pumpkins on the bottom right square were die cut from the retired detailed pumpkin dies. I used a blending brush to add Cajun Craze ink to both pumpkins then colored the stem with my Early Espresso Stampin’ Write markers. Glue one pumpkin down directly to mat and pop the second with Stampin’ dimensionals.

8. Stamp a scarecrow (I used an old wooden non SU stamp I’ve had for probably 15+ years. I colored him in with Stampin’ blends and fussy cut out. I then popped him up with Stampin’ Blends. If you do not want to fussy cut you can stamp him directly on a 3 ¼”x3 ¼” vanilla square but don’t emboss that square. I wanted my square embossed with the Cane Weave embossing folder so I fussy cut him out.

9. Stamp on a vanilla card stock one large leaf from the Autumn Leaves and Changing Leaves stamp set. I stamped both leaves in Cajun craze. I ten used a sponge dauber to add a bit of Mossy Meadow ink. Breath on stamp to remoisten ink before stamping. Both leaves have coordinating dies.

10. Add squares and sentiment circle to 12x12 Toffee or Crumb Cake cardstock.  I start with the four corners and glue them down 3/8” from the edge. Once you have those squares down it is easy to line up the other four.

11. Glue leaves in center overlapping your squares slightly. Pop up sentiment circle.

12. Add two 3 ¼” x 3 ¼” photos, or if you want a small vanilla mat, cut photos 3”x3”. Frame or add to a scrapbook.

That is the top right square so set aside since it is completed.

5. Die cut two mugs from patterned paper. I used the yellow and peach, you can choose whichever ones you like best. Sponge around the edges with sponge dauber and Pecan Pie ink. Glue down one mug and pop the smallest mug. That is the bottom right square and is completed so you can set aside.

This is the middle center left square that is completed. Set aside.

7. Die cut coffee pot with a scrap from the Textured Metallic specialty paper pack. I used a different color for the lid and handle. Die cut coffee and sponge with Pecan pie ink. Glue all pieces together and pop on designer paper square. This is the bottom left square. Set aside and this is complete.

8. Die cut small coffee cup with Glacier and Peach card stock scrap. Also die cut two of the dies that represent the coffee in the cup using Pecan Pie scrap. Cut two photos to 3 ¼” x 3 ¼” and glue to Glacier and peach squares. Pop with stampin’ dimensionals and place the peach on the bottom left corner of square with the Glacier mat. Pop the Glacier mug on the bottom right hand corner on the Peach mat. Set aside.

9. Stamp spoon with Black Momento ink on white card stock and color using the dark Gray Granite Stampin Blend. Stamp large mug on a thick white scrap using Lost Lagoon ink. Add Lagoon ink to a stamp block by pressing ink pad to block. Using an aqua painter color mug using a little water as possible. Leave the very center slightly lighter.  After dry stamp coffee in the cup with Pecan Pie ink. Glue down mug and pop spoon. This is the top right square and is completed so set aside.

10. For your final square stamp two mugs from the More than Autumn stamp set using Momento Black ink. Use aqua painter with Crumb cake, Lost Lagoon and Petal pink inks. Set aside to dry. Die cut words Latte and Coffee from scrap of Early Espresso cardstock. Glue to cups glue one cup on square embossed with So Swirly and pop second cup.

11. Arrange squares. I start with the four corners and glue to 12” x 12 “piece of designer paper 3/8” from the edge. Once you have your four corners straight you can easily add the other squares by aligning with the corner squares.

Enjoy your masterpiece.
