Scallop Oval Easter Egg card
with envelope modified to smaller size

When I saw the Easter Egg card done by Jackie Topa, I knew I had to make one. I added a layer of Designer Paper behind my scallops and added two stripes. I also modified a small open end envelope so that my egg would fit perfectly. You can view Jackie's card at http://jackietopa.typepad.com/addicted_to_stamping/2010/03/egg.html
All supplies Stampin’ Up!

Paper: Shades of Spring Designer Series Paper (DSP), Whisper White cardstock
Accessories: Big Shot, Scallop Oval Frame Bigz die, Sweet Pea Stitched Felt, Mini Glue Dots, Small open-end envelopes

1. Cut Whisper White cardstock 3” x 8.5 ”. Fold in half  for card base.

2. Cut Designer Series Paper  3” by 4 1/2”, and die cut oval shape. (see photo above)

3. Cut three pieces of DSP 2" x 3" and place on the die as shown in photo (you will have two pieces stacked on top of each other.) Cut.

4. You will end up with three scallops and three half moons (see photo)

5. Place two of the half moons pieces on the die, just 1/8” over oval cut line. (see photo)

6. This will cut two stripes. (see photo)

7. Glue scallops and stripes on egg. Option: Cut out two ovals, cut one in half and layer on top, so you can have a different top and bottom, that is what I did in the sample. Cut off excess

8. Place card base on the Scallop Oval Frame die just below the top of the oval and cut. (If you line it up so you just have three scallops showing above the card that will be perfect) see photo

9. Glue egg to card front matching at the bottom This will leave a small portion above the top of the card front, so that your finished egg is oval at the top not flat.

10. Trim a small portion off the bottom of your card if you want it to be able to stand.

11. Using mini glue dots, add a Sweet Pea Stitched felt leaf and flower on egg.

12. Cut flap off a small open-end envelope and trim down to 6”. Score 1 5/8” from open end. Cut off inside portion from score line to sides, leaving a flap. Use original flap as template to shape.

Thanks for looking. Enjoy your cute little Easter Egg card.

Happy Stampin'
