MDS - Abby with Frog

This is the page I made today while showing one of my girls how to use My Digital Studio. Once again I used the Hoppy Memories 12x12 Designers template, but made several modifications. I changed the red background to Cocoa, added a Kiwi mat around my photo, replaced the border with grosgrain ribbon. I added the Modern Label punch, resized larger, and matted in Chocolate Chip. I also added two Kiwi eyelets. I still amazed how quick I can finish a scrapbook page.

MDS - Greatest Moments Designer Template

I needed to unwind tonight, so played with My Digital Studio. It is so awesome to create a wonderful scrapbook page and NOT mess up my room! I had alot of fun with this one. I liked the designer template, but of course, could not leave it alone. I changed the border at the bottom, made the title red instead of white and added a tag punch (resized bigger) for my journaling. I kept the ribbon, and button true size, so I can add the real thing once printed. I think I will frame this and give it to my DH.

Note: I will delete the ribbon and button on my page, print, then add the real ribbon and button, and possibly linen thread on the button. I could just add the ribbon, and use crystal effects on the button if I print it on the page.

I really need to be getting my Valentine Cards made for January, but just had to play with this border set first.  So using the border stamp as my starting point and knowing I wanted a border on the top and the side, this is what I can up with.

Occasions mini catalog
January 5 - April 30, 2010

I finally got a chance to play with my new stamps. It was hard to see that box sitting there so lonely because Janet did not have time to play. This is one the new stamp sets in the new Occasions mini catalog that starts on January 5, 2010. This mini is full of fabulous stamps, buttons, brads, punches, sizzix dies, decor stencils, embosslits dies, ribbon, stitched felt, on board books and a new textured impressions folder. You will want to contact me today to get your copy.  Most of the stamps in the mini give you the option to purchase them with a wood or clear mount. Yes, you heard me correctly, clear mount! We have 9 different clear mount blocks, that you will love! All four sides of the blocks are grooved, so they are so easy and comfortable to use. You will be able to purchase the blocks on January 5, 2010 individually or as a bundle. Our new clear mount stamps come in a clear dvd case, with the name of the stamp set and a picture of all images on the side. How fabulous is that!!! Now,  not only do you see the name of the set, but a thumbnail picture of each stamp included in the side, right there on the side. You will not be able to view this catalog online until January 5th, so order your copy from me today. Simply drop me an email at jkm213@yahoo.com to get your copy.

Jingle all the way Decor Elements

I saw were Debbie at Making me crazy made a shadow box similar to this, but cannot find it now on her blog to give you the link. I used the small decor elements, she used a larger one. She had a black frame, and added silver bells. She also tied a bow on the top of her shadow box, which a opted not to do. I simple scored my paper (felted snowflake from Christmas Cocoa paper pack), and fit it inside the shadowbox, so that it also went up the sides. I added silver bells, then I painted the wood with red acrylic paint, then after that dried added a layer of Mod Podge to give the frame a little shine. Then I simply rubbed the Jingle all the way on the glass. It was really easy and I like the way it turned out. This is somethink I will put out year after year.

Stampin' Up! Supplies:  Jingle all the way, small red decor elements rubbon on. Christmas Cocoa Designer Series Paper. Whisper White cardstock.
Non SU Supplies: 8 x 10 wooden shadow box, silver bells, red acrylic paint and Mod podge

Thanks for looking. Have a Merry Christmas.

Shimmery Gifts of Christmas
It took me quite awhile to decide on my Christ-mas card, since Stampin' Up! has such a great selection this year. This is what I finally decided on.  I am quite pleased. What do you think? Notice how the Petals-a-Plenty embossing folder matches this stamp perfectly. Of course I had to use the new shimmer paint. How am I going to survive without this awesome product. My mantra used to be "If it isn't moving stamp on it", it is now" If it isn't moving stamp and shimmer it"  I really wish you could see the shimmer on line. It is quite stunning. Updated News Flash!!! Stampin' Up! just anounced that the shimmer paints will still be available after the Holiday mini catalog expires. Yahoo!!!!!

My Digital Studio Designer template

This page was created using the Designer Template option. It seriously took less than 5 minutes to create this page. I started with the Designer Cocoa II, page 1 template. I removed a white snowflake border from the bottom of the page. The Merry was all white so I changed it by adding Real Red, Old Olive and Soft Suede. I also changed the bird to Soft Suede. The text is Bradly Hand, (another one of my fav's). I then added my 4 photos by just dragging them to the photo box. I had to rotate a couple of photos, and remove red eye from one. (Yes, MDS has the capabilities of doing all of these functions, andy many more!) When printed, I will probably add glitter to the ornaments. Add Linen thread to my buttons, then put Crystal effects on them. I cannot believe this page was created so fast. Even if I go Hybrid (by adding glitter, thread and Crystal Effects, I will only have 10 minutes into this page. I cannot remember that last time I completed a page in less than one hour.
I love this program soooo much, I don't know how I survived so long without it.
Say it with me girls, "I'm scrapping and I just can't stop!!!"

Until then: Happy stampin' and scrappin'

Having fun with My Digital Studio

I used the create your own template for this 12x12 scrapbook page. I started with the Christmas Cocoa II, pattern 2 paper as my background. Then brought in Real Red cardstock as a layer and sized it to cover the bottom 2/3 of the page. I added the Christmas Jingle border 3 (trees), below that I placed Old Olive Grosgrain ribbon. Next I brought in the Christmas jingle red, green striped and brown ornaments. I added a drop shadow to all three ornaments.  I used Whisper white grosgrain ribbon and bows (resized smaller) to hang the ornaments. I added the Christmas Jingle tag 3 at the top of my page. To make my photo mat I used the Christmas Jingle olive border, which I sized larger. I then added Old Olive cardstock as a layer and sized it to fit just inside my olive border. I added a layer of the Christmas Cocoa II, pattern 2. I copy and pasted the pattern 2 paper twice to get the width I wanted, grouped them together, then copy and pasted that, to get the height I wanted. I imported my photo, added a Old Olive mat. My text is Lucida Handwriting (one of my fav's)
I was really suprised how fast this page came together. I am quite pleased.
I think the only thing I might add when printed is crystal effects or glitter to the ornaments.
Let me know what you think.

Noel Accordian Tag

I cased this tag: taylored expressions.blogspot.com/search/label/alteredart and of course made a few changes to make it my own. Her tag is a much larger (8"), mine is 4 1/4" so you can get two accordian bases from one sheet of cardstock. I ran my ribbon behind my square mats and put all my knots (did I tell you I don't do bows) at the top of the tags instead of randomly. I also made a few adjustments to use all Stampin' Up! products (of course!!!) I am quite please at how it turned out. Thanks Taylor for the inspiration. This projedt is also a part of Decembers stamp camp and you will receive a tag template to take home with your class kit. See my calendar for camp dates.

All Supplies Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Lovely Letters Alphabet stamp set.
Ink: Real Red and Old Olive
